32Red Casino wins a 3 year long legal battle over William Hill Casino

The three-year battle between William Hill Casino and 32Red Casino is over, British Court of Appeals ruled in favor of 32Red.

32Red Casino has already been handed a positive ruling back in October 2011, but William Hill Casino appealed the decision and only recently 32Red managed to defend its intellectual property rights once and for all.

The ruling declared that William Hill’s 32Vegas brand (later renamed to 21Nova) infringed two of 32Red’s trademarks. The Court of Appeals stated that William Hill took unfair advantage or 32Red’s trademarks. The court described the case in the following words: "A full-scale, wide-ranging attack on the Judge's analysis and conclusions on virtually every aspect of his judgment.”

William Hill’s appeal was declined in its entirety and 32Red received all costs associated with the appeal including the initial payment of GBP 70,000.

Another ruling is scheduled to take place soon in High Court, where damages and cost liabilities relating to the original case will be assessed.
