The action in PokerStars’ World Championship of Online Poker kicked off last weekend, with amateur-level players, known internet poker pros and household names in the game squaring off in 62 big tournament events.
Day two saw the WCOOP tournament’s biggest single-day winner so far when player CrabMaki took the High-Roller event for $605,655. PokerStars pro Ville Wahlbeck managed to place second in the tournament for a $450,000-plus win.
Just to name a few big names who have recorded big wins: Randy Lew, Noah Boeken, Barry Greenstein, Veroninca Dabul, Diego Brunelli, Johannes Steindl, Alvaro Ballesteros, Leo Fernandez, Pat Pezzin, Richard Toth, Vanessa Roussom Anh Van Nguyen, Jason Mercier and the legend-of-the-Internet himself, Chris Moneymaker.
Any one of the 32 remaining events may be bought into by any player; since PokerStars is running satellite tournaments in tandem with WCOOP events, players could even squeeze onto a table with the big boys for as little as $3, $1 or even through a freeroll tournament – so get in on the internet’s biggest poker tournament and play against the best!
