Centrebet goes after tax returns

Centrebet, a well-known Australian sportsbook is awaiting its payday, as the tax office is supposed to provide the company with a considerable sum.

Centrebet estimates that Aussie tax authorities must refund around AU $90m in taxes to the sportsbook. Centrebet is looking to collect the tax refund following a similar case between Sportsbet and tax authorities, which was settled in Federal Court with Sportsbet’s victory.

Centrebet issued a statement saying the Commissioner of Taxation informed them that there would be no Sportsbet judgment appeal. The Commissioner also shared that he would not argue the similar issues during the Centrebet proceedings.
