Betfair plans to introduce fixed odds sports betting propositions (video)

Renowned online sportsbook Betfair plans to further enrich its betting offerings with the addition of fixed odds propositions in Q2 2012.

Fixed odds will be available alongside Betfair’s traditional offerings and will provide members of the online sportsbook with a wider choice of sports betting propositions. The plans were revealed in a note from analysts at Numis Securities.

The note reads: “Betfair came to dominate fixed odds sports betting, in the same way it currently dominates overall sports betting, then it has the potential to more than double group profits. The calculations are highly speculative. The new system could let Betfair tap into the advantages offered by fixed-odds betting, such as greater selection, earlier bets and more multiple wagers.”

The news comes on the heels of Betfair introducing live-dealer tables in its online casino section. Live-dealer offerings are powered by Playtech software and a webcasted live from studios located in Riga, Latvia.
