Betsson prepares to enter Danish gambling market

Danish online gamblers can soon enjoy Betsson’s extensive online gambling offerings thanks to an operating license awarded to the group.

Betsson is already present in a number of regulated markets and will become one of the first foreign operators to enter the soon-to-be-open Danish market. Silfverberg praised the Danish gambling model and expressed hopes that Swedish regulators will consult Danes before drawing up their new laws: “The Danish government, in its work with the gaming legislation, has been willing to listen and has anchored its decisions in the gaming industry.”

He went on to say: “When the question of a Swedish gaming license is now, once again, an issue, we hope that the Swedish government will study and gain knowledge and wisdom from Denmark but, at the same time, that it will adapt any future Swedish model so that it is more similar to the conditions found in Malta and Great Britain. These adaptations apply, foremost, to all technical requirements and to tax levels.”
