Bodog Poker updates security

Bodog Recreational Poker Model received several controversial updates aimed at increasing player account security.

The launch of the update was preceded by widespread industry rumors, heavy decrease in Bodog’s numbers reported by PokerScout, rumors of poor security, cash-out delays and collusion. Bodog proved everybody wrong and introduced the anonymous tables.

Putting all the negative issues, Bodog’s CEO Partik Selin believes in the new business strategy of:

  1. Being in the best interest of casual players;
  2. Minimizing “Sharp Players”;
  3. Revival of the declining online poker industry;
  4. Improving financial standing and fiscal returns of the operator.

In its latest statement, Bodog addressed the lack of username issue, which is regarded as the primary source of collusion opportunities. Bodog Poker plans to introduce a measure to tackle this problem as early as Q1 2012.

The new update will offer members an opportunity “to request their hand history for any game they feel was 'wrong' with the added bonus of having all cards from the hand 'open'. It will be possible for all players to view all the cards rather than just their own." According to the company’s spokesperson this will provide the system with a much higher security value than poker rooms with actual usernames.

Further updates at Bodog Poker are expected to bring the ability to show just a single card when the player mucks. Players will once again be able to see their folded cards as the hand plays out. Extra graphics on cards at certain times during the game will also make an appearance to enhance the entertainment factor for the casual player.
