Microgaming casinos launch a new variation of blackjack – Hi Lo 13 European Blackjack (video)

The casino software gurus over at the Microgaming game labs finally got around to releasing a new blackjack game, and from what we’ve seen so far, it was definitely worth the wait!

The new game has a huge title – Hi Lo 13 European Blackjack Gold Series – but it’s not as complicated as it sounds.

First of all, this is a Gold Series game, which means players can expect high-resolution graphics, fully digital sound effects, and advanced gameplay features. The game plays smoothly, and looks incredibly realistic.

At heart, Hi Lo 13 European Blackjack Gold Series is very similar to the classic game Over Under 13. It’s a two deck game played with a single hand, and there is an optional side bet on the value of the first two cards dealt to the player. It’s this side bet that makes the game so interesting, as it enables a second paytable for extended wins.

To place the special Hi Lo 13 bet, players must first place their regular Blackjack bet (the main game runs according to standard European rules). Once the main bet is placed, three optional side bets becomes available, each with a 25.00 maximum.

  • Sum of first two cards will be more than 13
  • Sum of first two cards will equal 13
  • Sum of first two cards will be less than 13

Players are even allowed to bet on all three side bets simultaneously, which might be a good strategy since one of them is bound to pay out! The first and last pay out 1:1, but the bet that the first two cards will equal 13 pays out 10:1.

Aside from this great site bet, the game is a standard European Blackjack table game. Chips come in several denominations, ranging from 1 to 200, making it easy to bet the perfect amount. The controls are well designed, and never get in the way of the game. Overall this is an excellent new addition to Microgaming’s blackjack line-up.
