NFL football betting: Pittsburgh Steelers a huge favorite on Monday Night Football

Betting odds on Philadelphia Eagles v Washington Redskins

In what is receiving billing as Donovan McNabb’s second start against his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington fights to keep their season alive – but online sportsbooks Brobury Sports, bet365 and BetUS give them little chance to do so.

More at stake on Monday Night Football in week 10 is the race for the NFC East title. Thanks to the New York Giants inexplicably falling to the Dallas Cowboys and new head coach Jason Garrett, the Eagles are well positioned to take over the division lead with a win here and a visit to the Big Apple on the schedule for next week. Bet365 reckons Philadelphia to win with a money line of 1/2, while Brobury Sports gives Washington a generous 3.5-point handicap (some other online sportsbooks are giving D.C. three points).

In fact, online sportsbook BetUS also figures the game to be quite close: In this sportsbook’s “winning margin” prop, the shortest odds are on “Philadelphia to win by 1-3 Pts” (3/1) and “Washington to win by 1-3 Pts” (7/2). A bit strange considering D.C. appears to be entering a wheels-falling-off-the-wagon stage in their 2010 season.

Oh yes, and McNabb. Infamously benched for punchline Rex Grossman to run the two-minute drill in week 8’s losing effort, McNabb is symbolic of the woes of yet another slapped-together team constructed by Dan Snyder. With starting QB plus much of the receiver corps and several key positions on defense occupied by guys past their prime, 1990s coaching legend Mike Shanahan will be lucky to end this season .500 as his old guys tucker out like McNabb down the stretch. (BroburySports has Washington at 60/1 to win the Super Bowl in its updated odds, while Philadelphia gets a bettable 15/1.)
