After a weird NFL betting season, the playoffs begin on Saturday, as the wild-card playoff round produces a pair of odd situations and one amazing matchup.
Betting offers and live in-game betting on all four games is available at BetUS, Brobury Sports and Bookmaker online sportsbooks.
Much of the talk about the first round centers on the 7-9 Seattle Seahawks, the first-ever sub-.500 team to make the NFL playoffs in the modern era. How longshot are the ‘Hawks, despite getting to host the wild card game? How about 85-1 odds to win Super Bowl XLV at Bookmaker? BetUS and the rest don’t like their chances against the defending champion New Orleans Saints, either, and the pointspread is at +10 to Seattle.
Speaking of talk, yapping Rex Ryan and his New York Jets get the veteran Indianapolis Colts in the first round. Ryan most recently took a random shot at New England Patriots QB Tom Brady; guess he hasn’t heard that you don’t want to make four-time AFC champion Brady angry on the eve of the playoffs. He probably hasn’t heard that his Jets are 20/1 to win the Super Bowl at Bookmaker, while the Patriots are 27/20.
Meanwhile the Kansas City Chiefs, 7-1 in Missouri in 2010, get to host the Baltimore Ravens, squeaking into the playoffs as a visiting team for the third time in three years. The Chiefs are the upstarts in this tournament and BroburySports’ pointspread of Ravens minus-3 could well sink before Sunday kickoff.
Finally, the marquee matchup pits the red-hot Green Bay Packers against everyone’s new/old favorite quarterback Michael Vick and his Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are staggering into the playoffs a bit thanks once again to suspect coaching, while the Pack has looked particularly sharp on defense in the season’s second half. But can they contain Mr. Vick? BroburySports online sportsbook says “no,” putting Green Bay as a three-point underdog in a game that could well go into overtime.
Enjoy the NFL playoffs while making things more interesting at online sportsbooks BetUS, Brobury Sports and Bookmaker – dozens of lines, odds, proposition bets and in-game betting are available at each!
