NFL betting lines week 10

One game in week 10 of the 2010 NFL season is in the books, but 14 more games have yet to be played – and online sportsbook sites BetUS, Bookmaker and Brobury Sports reckon most of them will go down to the wire.

Of the 14 games on the slate, just one sports a pointspread of more than one touchdown: The hapless Dallas Cowboys and new coach Jason Garrett are plus-13.5 at the New York Giants on Sunday. Beyond this, eight games will kick off with a handicap of 3.5 or less given the favorite: BetUS figures Minnesota-Chicago, Detroit-Buffalo, New York Jets-Cleveland, Kansas City-Denver, Seattle-Arizona, and the Monday Night Football game Philadelphia-Washington could all come down to the kicker.

In fact, the most conspicuous line on the table is the New England Patriots-Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday late game: BroburySports has the Steelers, suddenly the vogue Super Bowl pick when just last week the Patriots held this role, as a 4.5-point favorite; Bookmaker has them as five-point favorites. This one requires some consideration, factoring in Pats’ coach Bill Belichick’s reputation for winning Sunday night games, beating Pittsburgh and avoiding losses in consecutive games. Plus, here’s the believe it or not fact for the game: The Steelers haven’t beaten the Patriots *in Pittsburgh* since 2004.

Meanwhile, one line that looks too low is in the Detroit Lions-Buffalo Bills game. After three straight near-wins from the Bills, nearly everybody has 0-8 Buffalo finally notching their first win of the season. Add to this the absence of the Lions’ rookie stud QB Matthew Stafford and that mere minus-3 the Bills are getting at BetUS seems way too generous. If you’re brave enough to back a winless team this late in the season, Buffalo looks like a great bet.

Jackpot Finder recommends BetUS, BroburySports and Bookmaker online sportsbooks for quality NFL football betting. All accept US players and all offer in-game live betting.
