Manchester City v Chelsea in Premier League

The fixture of the week this weekend in English Premier League is certainly the Manchester City vs. Chelsea matchup at Eastlands – and online sportsbooks Ladbrokes and bet365 reckon this one could get ugly.

Defending Double-holders Chelsea are a big favorite to win outright at Ladbrokes and bet365 online sportsbooks, getting odds of 6/5 and 11/10 respectively to win the match outright. Home team Manchester City is a longshot at 12/5 or 13/5. And a draw is getting odds of 11/5 or 23/10.

After all, Man City and coach Roberto Mancini have been impossible to read this season: They registered an early key win against Liverpool and a good draw at Tottenham Spurs, but have also lost to Sunderland and West Brom. Man City’s woes are further boosted this week by a roster with only three proper defenders available: Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany and Kolo Toure.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is welcoming back John Terry and Frank Lampard, though Lampard won’t start, for their first Premier League action of the season, and Nicolas Anelka will start after sitting out last week’s match against Blackpool.

Sounds like it could be a bit of a blowout, actually. (The over/under on goals is 2.5. Take the over.)
