The seventh event of this year’s Formula 1 season happens this weekend in Istanbul when the green flag flies for the 2010 Turkish Grand Prix. The main focus will be on the Red Bull team and the current top two drivers in points, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel.
Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix
Where: Istanbul, Turkey
Race Date: May 30th
Race Time: 15:00
Laps: 58
Twenty-four drivers will be queueing up for qualifying heats on Friday. Webber and Vettel are among the more familiar names participating, as is current no. 3 overall Fernando Alonso. But the old guard is well represented here as well, with Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher, still on the comeback trail, also participating.
Bet365 naturally has the top three installed as its odds-on favorites: Vettel gets 7/4 odds, Webber is at 5/2, and Alonso sees 9/2 odds. According to the bookmakers, Lewis Hamilton of McLaren Mercedes would appear to be the biggest threat to the big boys and is getting 13/2 odds. Hamilton is known as the youngest Formula 1 champion of all-time.
The veterans are longshots, with Schumacher at 28/1 and Barrichello at 200/1. Unibet sportsbook meanwhile offers lines of the old guys of 30/1 and 250/1, respectively.
Unibet has an impressive range of bets offered in this race, with 43 propositions from outright winner to “Fastest Lap” to “Winning Constructor.” (Red Bull is the favorite at 1.37:1.) You can even wager on the “Safety Car Special”: Will the safety car be used at any time during the race? “Yes” pays out at 1.95:1.
For those punters residing in the U.S., we would recommend Brobury Sports and Bodog Sports, for betting on this event. We suggest that others use Unibet, Bet365 Sportsbook or Ladbrokes. No matter which bookmaker you choose, the Turkish Grand Prix is bound to be exhilarating!
