The Giro d’Italia, sometimes known simply as The Giro, is a three week professional bicycle road race that sees cyclists tour across Italy. It is one of the three ‘Grand Tours’, and is part of the UCI World Ranking calendar.

The Giro d’Italia has been running since 1909, and is the second most important stage race in the world (after the Tour de France). Like in the Tour, racers in The Giro compete for jerseys. Four jerseys correspond to four classifications in the race.
