Top 10 Online Gambling and Casino Ad Campaigns - Part I (video)

As 2010 draws toward the end, JackpotFinder felt it would be enjoyable to reflect how diverse gambling operations have advertised their internet casinos, internet bingo halls, internet sportsbooks, and other gambling services.

To this end, JackpotFinder has selected the ten best gambling commercials ever produced. By best, we mean funniest or otherwise the most memorable. Of course humor, cuteness, sex, violence, and political incorrectness can all help create a lasting impression.

JackpotFinder apologizes if his tastes and interests don’t always match yours.  Some (not all) of the videos on this list may best appeal to a dark or perverse sensibility, but all of these videos could be considered “work safe”.

Speaking of gambling commercials in questionable taste, let’s get started:

#10. Cool Hand Poker created a series of “Know your poker hands” to advertise their online poker room.   The present video uses four people immediately reminiscent of the Village People in some literal toilet humor to illustrate (SPOILER ALERT!)  in the game of poker a “straight flush beats four queens”.  Within another  poker trainer commercial, however, we learn that “4 queens beat a straight”.

#9. JackpotJoy Bingo nominated Barbara Ann Deeks (better known as Barbara Winsor) as the Queen of Bingo for a series of online bingo hall adverts.  Windsor is well known for playing Peggy Mitchell in the British soap opera East Enders; she also made a cameo appearance as Peggy in the Doctor Who science fiction series.  However, she is most strongly associated with portrayals of a “good time girl” within nine Carry On films, such as Carry On Dick and Carry on Camping.  As the Queen of Bingo, we find a character perhaps as sex-mad as the landlady Kath she played in Joe Orton’s dark comedy Entertaining Mr Sloane.

#8. InterCasino has continued a time honored tradition of employing midgets to belittle themselves in a series of commercials for the online casino site.  Within one video in this campaign, three midgets ring church bells, but are humorously lifted out of the view, to be returned as a three cherry slot machine jackpot.   Another strange video depicts them as playing cards in a blackjack game.  Yet another within the series casts a bald midget as a James Bond style spy.

#7. Foxy Bingo demonstrates that perversion isn’t necessary to create an enjoyable online bingo site promotion.  Instead, they use a cute anthropomorphized fox to create a rapport with the audience.  Adam Catterall, presenter during 97.4 Rock FM’s breakfast show, is the voice of a fox who chats, jokes around, and even dances during a series of spots for the Jeremy Kyle show, a British daytime television chat show.

#6. Full Tilt Poker created a humorous campaign series displaying famous professional poker players such as Erik Seidel, John Juanda, and Phil Ivey maintaining poker faces in awkward or embarrassing situations.  Within the selected commercial, Seidel is at home watching television with his family when a hardcore punk rocker has come to Seidel’s house hoping to take Seidel’s daughter out for a date.  A hilarious dialog is exchanged as (SPOILER ALERT!)  Seidel informs the punk that he is alone and unavailable.
