With just two races to go in the 2010 Formula One season, Fernando Alonso again turned things topsy-turvy with an incredible win in Korea to steal the top spot on the table with two weeks to go.
Just to make things interesting, online sportsbooks Bet365, BetUS and Bodog don’t even see Alonso as the favorite in this weekend’s Brazil Grand Prix.Despite the fact that he’s taken three of the last four races and earned a podium spot in six of the previous seven, Alonso is just third-favorite in this race, getting 3/1 odds to win at BetUS (and a slightly longer 10/3 at Bodog Sportsbook). Instead, the book likes Sebastian Vettel (7/4 at BetUS, 12/5 at Bodog) and Mark Webber (9/4 at BetUS, 5/2 at Bodog).
The biggest obstacle to the white-hot Alonso taking the 2010 title? Remember that his team is allowed just one more engine; with a blowout in this race, Alonso’s Ferrari team can replace his engine for the final at Abu Dhabi, but substantial points – and thus most likely his title chances – will be lost in this eventuality. Regardless, Alonso is a 4/7 favorite to win the title at Bet365.
Enjoy the penultimate race in what has been a most exciting Formula One season with wagers at Bet365, Bodog and BetUS online sportsbooks!
