NetEnt
software does not accept real money play from US players.
Net Entertainment, also known as NetEnt, is an industry-leading producer of browser-based online casino software. The company is as old as the internet – they were founded more than a decade ago in 1996 – but their unique take on instant play online casino games has not taken off like they had hoped. The software provides about 100 games, which is an impressive number for a system that is entirely browser-based. Roughly half of the NetEnt game library consists of slots, though all major game categories are covered. NetEnt currently powers about 40 casinos across the web.
History
NetEnt was started in 1996, and came about because the founders wanted to get involved in the online casino industry, but were not happy with the software options that were available at the time. The company decided to produce their own proprietary, in-house software. After several years of development, the first NetEnt-powered internet casino was launched in 2000. The next year, another 4 casinos were launched. Then in 2005, NetEnt made the decision to sell off all of their casinos, and to focus exclusively on producing online gaming software. The online gambling ban in that hit the US in 2006 was not just a small bump in the road, because they decided to withdrawal completely from the US market - at least until the official status of online gambling in USA is finally decided. Today, more than 40 casinos worldwide are powered by NetEnt software.
