The 2010 NCAA football season is still a couple months away from kickoff, but as always speculation on the Heisman Trophy winner began with season’s end last year

QBs Ryan Mallett of Arkansas and Jake Locker figure to be NFL draft picks soon and both are given 12/1 odds to take the trophy this season.

As for longshots, the best bet may be USC’s Matt Barkley at 18/1. Barkley is a seriously talented athlete who will benefit from one of the best recruited classes of 2010.
