Microgaming is perhaps the most well-known of all online casino software manufacturers. One reason for this is that the company has been around since the dawn of the internet, and produced the first full online casino more than a decade ago. Microgaming software powers 120 casinos and 40 poker rooms, and runs the largest network of Progressive Jackpot games on the internet. There are over 400 different casino games in their portfolio, many more than any other gaming software currently offers.

History

Microgaming started way back in 1994, several years before most people even got their first email address. It was in that year that they developed the world’s first online casino. In 2002, Microgaming broke the world record at the time for the largest online jackpot every paid out: $1,500,000 was won on Major Millions, one of their most popular online progressive slots. By 2003 their game portfolio already exceeded 200 titles. Another major achievement in Microgaming's history came in 2005, when they passed $200 million in Progressive Jackpot payouts. Then in 2009, Mega Moolah progressive slot paid out over €6.3 million, setting a new record for the largest payout from an online casino game.
