Going back to almost prehistoric times, there has always been some form of gambling in Canada. Due to the tax income, many have allowed casinos and even offshore gambling entities.

Over time, all casino games have evolved. This can be thanks to being introduced to new cultures. Or thanks to advancements in technology. The game of poker hasn't necessarily changed so much in its gameplay and rules. But the way it's delivered to gamblers all over the globe has seen considerable change. Thanks to ever-faster internet connections, many players simply stream the game on their web browser or play via an app on their phone. The next phase is probably going to be virtual reality.
