Unlike their major Spanish rivals, FC Barcelona, Los Blancos have remained consistent in their form and are still up at the top of the La Liga table. They were beaten out by their local capital competition, Atletico Madrid. Unfortunately, this last season saw them trophyless for the very first time. In June 2021, a new manager joined the club. Now with the respected and experienced Carlo Ancelotti, now at the helm, there is renewed hope that the next season will be one of their best.

The Zidane headbutt is like the death of Lady Di or the assassination of JFK, in that we all remember where we were on the fateful day that Zinedine Zidane headbutted Italy’s Marco Materazzi. It was, without a doubt the, most tragic and controversial exit the sport of football has ever seen.
