From very humble and poor beginnings in a small dusty Texas town, Brian Sailor Roberts evolved into one of the best and most feared poker players the world has even known. Learning to play cards at an early age, he was to hone is poker skills whilst serving in the US Navy, where he also picked up the nickname of "sailor." He would become a member of the Texas Road Gamblers who played the Southern Poker Circuit. Later he was to find fame and fortune in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Few people have either the money or the will power to bet $1 million on a single outcome. But way back in 1984, a certain William Bergstrom did just that.

Is there ever a point where the risk, even if it's your very life, is worth the potential payoff? We think not. After all, whatever the pay off, you need to be breathing to collect it. Unless you're truely nuts.
