For a lot of gamblers, bad money management means that losses hit harder than wins. They will tell you that there's a more intense emotional value to a loss. If, for example, you lost $1,000 last night, it's going to make the next day a misery. You'll be constantly asking yourself how did you let it happen. Yet, conversely, if you'd won $1,000, you'd be happy, but not really showing any emotion, or really giving it much thought. It's as if the emotion of a loss is heavier than that of a win.
