The name Casanova is synonymous with being a great lover. And though he certainly had a well-known reputation for bedding women, much of this appeared to be a phycological rouse in order to secure funds for gambling. In many ways, his gambling behavior would be considered as being that of someone with a serious gambling addiction. He would seduce and then convince women to give him huge sums of money which he would lose almost instantly. Furthermore, he was a terribly bad loser.

Every gambler needs to believe that they are playing on a level playing field. That the odds are the same for all players. With huge sums of cash changing hands during betting games, especially with sports betting, then it's no surprise that some might be tempted to cheat. And it's so much easier to do this from within the sports/casino companies themselves, out of the sight of the bettors themselves. Over history, there have been a number of famous cases where the perps were caught out.
