When we look at the traditional bets in blackjack, they all appear to make sense. But more recently, casinos, both online and off, have begun introducing new types of bets, called side bets. Though they are designed to look tempting, with the promise of larger payouts, you should be wary of playing them. For a start, the house edge on them is much higher than on regular bets. Keep in mind that the casino only ever makes changes or introduces new bets for its own benefit, not for the gamblers.
