Introduction: Free Poker Apps

Today, let’s take a look at free poker apps. As you’re well aware, there are so many different levels with which you can play poker. For example, with your friends, at home with a few beers. Or at the casino, at the gaming table, with a fistful of chips. And then there’s the huge number of online sites offering many varieties and exciting means of betting with poker. But if you’re serious about making money, with jackpot poker then you’re going to have to practice a lot. And then practice some more!

An excellent means of developing your skills is to play online. The only downside is that even if you might want to play for free, many sites still insist that you first deposit some funds into your account. We get it, in that this makes you nervous. So why not try another option. Namely, poker apps, from either the App Store or from Apple’s Play Store. And if you download a number of them, then you can rotate them as you learn to play in order to get a different gaming experience as you develop your skills. Here we’ve picked out ten of the best poker apps for 2020.

Play Poker Online at Intertops

How to Play Poker – Learn Texas Holdem Offline

This is a mobile application that’s available for both IOS and Android devices. This isn’t really an app for playing poker. Its main function is to teach you how to play the game. This gives you as much time as you need to digest the rules and understand the gameplay. The app goes up and beyond the basics and you can learn advanced poker strategies and other poker gameplay topics that’ll make you a better player. In fact, there’s something on the app for players of all levels. An added feature is that there’s an “offline mode” so you can keep playing without any wi-fi.

Free Poker Apps: Poker Heat

In many ways, this app is the polar opposite of the one above. It’s all about the “action”, with a gorgeous interface and a ton on innovative controls. Looking at the app is almost more satisfying than playing it. But in truth, it plays very well and there is any number of difficult levels as you play against more and more difficult opponents. One downside is that the app features in play advertisements. Though we understand this keeps the app as a free download, we found it slightly irritating, though your mileage may vary on that point. All in all, a great app for playing and trying out your jackpot winning strategies as opposed to learning.

Texas Holdem Poker Deluxe

Apparently, this is the top-rated free poker app on Facebook (or so the makers’ state). To that end, you can either download the app to your phone or play within Facebook. You start off with free chips and the app lets you replenish them as you lose them. With your virtual bag of chips, you can join any number of poker tables, play or go look for other tournaments. On the whole, this app is very easy on the eye, as well as being easy to play. The interface looks thoroughly professional and it’s obvious that the company behind the app takes great pride in their creation.

Governor of Poker 3

This app is the latest in a whole line of “Governor of Poker” titles. You can find it for Steam Plays, IOS or Android. Like most of the apps on this list, you begin with a pocketful of free chips, and then find a table. There are also daily chip give-a-ways and tournaments. Oh…and if you’re feeling a little tired of poker, then there’s also a blackjack interface. We found Governor of Poker 3 to e an excellent choice. But what really makes it a stand-out among its peers is that it has an “attitude”. The game has a Wild West theme and it’s filled with childish graphics. But it all comes together to create an individual and unique experience. There are even ways that you can brag about your status. We love it!

World Poker Club

here’s another app for steam, IOS or Android. And, like the app above, you can play directly on Facebook. Unlike many poker apps which just tend to offer Texas Hold’em, this app also adds Omaha Holden poker into the mix. Once again like many others, this app is a solid piece of work. Interestingly enough, this app takes great pains to ensure that you’re playing fairly.

Intertops Poker Welcome Bonus

Free Poker Apps: Jackpot Poker

Jackpot poker used to be PokerStars Play. As you can guess, the app comes from the PokerStars stable. Not surprisingly, with a pedigree name like that, the app does deliver in spades. There are just two minor negative points for us. One is the more or less constant reminder to deposit more than just virtual currency. It’s like a constant nagging as opposed to an invitation. And secondly, the app only features Texas Hold’em. Still, they do have a game-play mode called “Jackpot Poker”, whereby three players can duke it out for the main prize.

Appeak Poker

This is a basic no-frills approach to a poker app. This app is really about playing poker and you can be up and playing in seconds. There’s nothing on the app that might possibly distract from your poker playing experience. It boasts a nice clean interface with a number of animated avatars which, in truth, do remind us of Disney characters. Still, this app does exactly what it says on the tin, nothing more and nothing less. You’re already expected to know the rules of poker. Enter a game, choose your mode, and you’re good to go. All in all a great poker playing app that’ll help increase your jackpot winning chances when you play with real money.

VIP Poker – Texas Holdem

Though the graphics are nowhere near the quality of any of the previous offerings, this app has exactly the right balance between ease of lay and an easy to use interface. We would go so far as to say, it’s by far the easiest and fastest interface to master among all these other apps. Available across all mobile platforms, the app is very generous with its infinite supply of free coins for free play. VIP Poker definitely has something to offer, just not in the same level of style as the others here.

Zynga Poker

You probably know of the Zynga Poker app thanks to their ads (some might say spamming) on Facebook. It’s available across all mobile devices and it certainly is a lot of fun to play. The real downside is that you’ll have to deposit real cash into your account before you can play. And it’s not cheap either. We guess someone needs to pay for all those Facebook ads! That aside, the interface is gorgeous to behold. The gameplay is sick and there is any number of variants. Our favorite is called “Jump Poker” where you are dealt a new hand the moment that you fold. This keeps the action and excitement up which makes for a very enjoyable game-play.

Free Poker Apps: WSOP

Well, no poker app list would be complete without this one. World Series of Poker online app is still up there with the best of them. It offers not just Texas hold’em, along with Omaha Holdem, but also a ton of mini jackpot games and challenges. And you can earn more virtual currency with these. This is probably the best poker app on the internet today. And it totally free to boot. What’s not to love? Well, we do have one minor gripe. And that’s with the betting amount slider, which is a bit on the crude side. This means that it’s easy to over or under bet when putting in your desired amounts. But this minor distraction shouldn’t take away from the fact that this is probably as good as it gets with poker apps.

Conclusion: Free Poker Apps

Open up either the App Store or Google Play Store and do a search for poker apps. There are literally thousands to choose from. For this list we really just choose those with a professional interface, game-play, and the fact that they don’t crash. Each one is a great stand-alone product. But at the end of the day, all kudos go to WSOP. This should definitely be at or near the top of any online poker apps to download. But there’s no reason you can’t have fun playing them all.
